Coordinator (20-30 hrs/wk):
WSKG seeks a Building Services
Coordinator to coordinate and oversee the operation and maintenance
of the main facility and grounds as related to the building,
mechanical systems, and related services.
Responsibilities include: supervision
of all building, mechanical, and control systems; performing
routine facility maintenance, landscaping, lawn services, and snow
removal services; supervision of company vehicle maintenance;
selecting and monitoring purchased support services and materials
provided by subcontractors; acting as tenant intermediary,
monitoring tenant services, and remedying tenant problems and
concerns; supervision of energy use and implementation of energy
conservation projects; supervision of the Building Services
Assistant; assisting in the development and tracking of the
Building Services budget and station capital budget; coordination
of renovation and relocation projects, and associated
interdepartmental requirements; and supervision of standard safety
procedures within the facility.
Candidates should possess: a
high school diploma; a valid driver's license with a clean driving
record; good oral and written communication skills; a broad
knowledge of all building-related trades, practices, and materials;
organization skills; and the proven ability to perform under
pressure.
Additional preferred experience
includes: supervisory experience; two-years experience in facility
management and maintenance; design, drawing, and office-layout
experience; ability to resolve conflicts and handle interpersonal
problems under pressure; and an Associate's Degree.
New Media &
Communications Specialist:
WSKG seeks a New Media &
Communications Specialist to: integrate and maintain all social
media aspects of the company's website (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube,
blogs, etc.); assist the Director of Development & Marketing
with creation of press releases and coordination of media buys to
promote station activities; act as communication/PR liaison at
station meetings and external community meetings; assist with set
up and coordination of special events both at the station and in
the community; assist with design of graphics for advertisements
and communication materials; and to play a key role in staging the
facility for special events.
Responsibilities include: assisting
with PR for station events, and planning media buys as required;
web promotions as required, and to be part of the station's cross
promotions team; working with the Director of Development &
Marketing to develop station materials as needed; maintaining all
online social media components of the website, and the primary
responsibility for obtaining or creating content for this
communication; assisting with the coordination of information
needed for the program guide; working with producers on developing
new logos; working closely with special events team in the set up
and complete facilitation of both station and community special
events and visibility events; writing WSKG's monthly blog post; and
other duties and special projects as assigned.
Candidates should possess: a Bachelor's
Degree in Communications or related field; two-years experience
with website design; extensive knowledge and practical application
of website design skills and social media platforms as they relate
to increasing audience numbers and public awareness of services;
proficiency in using desktop publishing software; experience with
organizing and coordinating special events; the ability to develop
press releases and promotional plans for station activities;
excellent communication skills; the ability to work as a team
member to create graphics and logos as needed; and the ability to
handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Additional preferred experience
includes: a Master's Degree in Communications or related field;
five-years experience in website design; extensive experience
working with a team to integrate social media platforms into
company's communications plan; two-years experience with graphic
design for website, print, etc.; experience with creating and
implementing successful special events to increase public awareness
and generate revenue for the company; and prior work experience in
a public broadcasting or not-for-profit environment.
