As a lifelong Binghamton resident, I am most inspired by local nature and scenery. The Bobolink is one of many favorite summertime birds, and I am reminded of meadows and the fantastic song of this bird. The Bobolink's yellow nape and striking "skunk" pattern are a thing of beauty! For this drawing, I strayed from my usual colored pencils, for a brighter look using pastels. The art was made from a photo of a male Bobolink in Johnson City, taken by friend and colleague Victor Lamoureux.
