"I was inspired to paint this painting after visiting the area a few years ago.   The history and the spectacular views made me want to capture the area in a painting.  I took the picture from (I believe it is called) the Trail to the Sun across from the mountain itself. We had hiked to the top for the spectacular views. It was a bright sunny day and the mountain stood out above the deep valleys below."

A lifelong resident of Susquehanna County, Rita Eddy has always been interested in art and started taking classes in the 1980's.  Since retiring she can now devote more time to creating her artwork.
