Move It! -
WSKG's award-winning television show features a
unique, high energy format for children and families interested in
health and wellness.
Move
It! began airing in the fall of 2009 and continues
with a second season in fall 2010.
Whether it's a pond safari at Finch Hollow Nature Center, an on-ice
hockey skills challenge following a meeting with the Binghamton
Senators, or a salsa dance competition, the
Move
It! teams went non-stop the first season as they
participated in numerous challenges. At the end of the first
season, the winning team received a prize package donated by local
businesses.

We'll also have special guest cartoonist

the "B.C." comic strip.
The Ripe Bananas
and The Blueberryanators are tied! Each team has won a challenge so
far, but there are still many more to come. January's episode of
Move It! features
Trent Patterson leading the teams in a series
of exercises to see which team can do more as the clock ticks away.
Patterson is a personal trainer in Binghamton and former contestant
on The Biggest Loser show. Registered dietician Pat Mizerak from
United Health
Services shows us how not to be fooled by "portion distortion,"
when we Fuel It! And Kayla from Apalachin,
NY shares the power of poetry and artwork for our Cool It
segment. Plus, we announce the winners of the
Art
for the Heart contest!
So far the
"Blueberryanators" are in the lead, after winning the first Move
It! challenge. But which team will prevail when they run through an
obstacle course set up by personal trainer Kelsey
Newman of Endicott? This high energy episode also features the
best snacks to keep you going. You'll also meet 15-year-old star
gymnast Lauren Beers of Warren Center, PA. She attends
Southern Tier Gymnastics Academy in Endwell and competes
nationally.
This episode
features the first Move It! competition. Our two teams get their
hands dirty at Finch Hollow Nature Center in Johnson City during a
"pond safari" challenge. They fish out pond life, learn about it
and then take a quiz to see which team will win. Chef Bob Gannon
from Wegmans also cooks up some seafood. Team members learn how to
Cool It! with psychologist and yoga teacher Don Glauber as he leads
the cast in some relaxation exercises.
Meet the cast of
Move It! in this premiere episode. Teenage hosts, Mackenzie and
Matt, and eight 10-11 year olds get to know each other for the
first time through team building exercises. Special guest and
improvisation professional Rhonda Morton of Corning, leads them in
building "shape chains" and telling group stories. Then team
assignments are revealed. Move It! will follow the teams as they
compete in challenges for prizes, awarded in the finale. This
episode also includes a look ahead at the competitions and
activities of future episodes.
