HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SESAME STREET!

For 40 years Sesame Street has served children's best interests, combining education and entertainment through a research-based curriculum, featuring a multicultural cast, and giving kids honest answers to tough questions.  Besides teaching letters and numbers, Sesame Street fosters imagination, builds social skills, and models respect for people's differences, whether they're based in race, gender, ethnicity, googly eyes, or neon fur.

Sesame Festival
On Sunday, November 8th WSKG welcomed over 600 people at our studio as we celebrated Sesame Street's 40th Birthday!  Families and children met Elmo, enjoyed Sesame stories, participated in puppet & mural-making, and played with our TV green screen. We are so pleased you joined us!  To view a few pictures from the event click here.

Many thanks to our special guests Mary Ann Karre and Johnny Only who shared their time and talents with the community.  We'd also like to thank volunteers from CAST (Communication Association of the Southern Tier) and BCC (Broome Community College).
