On September 27th 2009, PBS will premiered The National Parks: America's Best Idea, a six-episode series directed by Ken Burns. Nation Parks was filmed over the course of more than six years at some of nature's most spectacular locals.

To celebrate the abundance of natural beauty that has been preserved in our own communities, WSKG produced STATE PARK MINUTES. Click on the link for each state park to view the video.

The National Parks:
America's Best Idea

The film works its way chronologically through the history of the national parks featuring characters who dedicated their lives to insuring all could enjoy these places. The film explores how the national park system came to be and examines some of how these majestic places came to be national parks.  Directed and produced by Ken Burns and written and produced by Dayton Duncan.
