Charlie Brown Holiday Specials Return to WSKG

Charlie Brown and the gang are returning to PBS for the holiday season, this year with three Peanuts classics coming to WSKG this fall.

Join the Peanuts gang for a timeless adventure as Charlie Brown preps for a party, Snoopy sets his sights on the Red Baron, and Linus patiently awaits a pumpkin patch miracle. It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown airs on Sunday, October 24, 7:30 pm on WSKG-HD and on WSKG-PBS Kids. (This program will be for Broadcast only. WSKG is restricted from airing this on our Live Stream.)

After Buffalo mass murders, governor calls for action from social media companies

NEW YORK NOW - Gov. Kathy Hochul said on Sunday that she wants top social media companies to examine how their platforms contribute to the spread of racist ideologies that fuel violent attacks, including a mass shooting in Buffalo Saturday that left 10 people dead. Hochul called on those companies to develop algorithms that could alert law enforcement when someone posts content on social media that “shows a propensity or desire to harm others.” “I want them to have … a system that would immediately alert individuals when racist content or any manifesto-type materials that shows a propensity or desire to harm others, to kill them, to maim them, to have mass casualties,” Hochul said in an interview with NPR.

BUFFALO, NY (WBFO) – Gov. Kathy Hochul promised to advance new gun control legislation following Saturday’s mass shooting at the Tops Market on Jefferson Avenue in Buffalo. An 18-year-old white male allegedly killed 10 people and injured three others at the grocery store located on the city’s predominately Black East Side, in an attack that authorities say was a hate crime.
