A Democrat has represented the district for over thirty years. So far, everyone in the race is a Democrat.

The latest person to announce their candidacy is Lisa Hoeschele from Cortland County. She is the CEO of Family and Children’s Counseling Services.

Also from Cortland County is legislator Beau Harbin.

Two more candidates are from Ithaca. They are Ithaca Alderman Seph Murtagh and Tompkins County legislator Anna Kelles.

Jason Leifer is the Dryden Town Supervisor. Dryden is also in Tompkins County.

All of the candidates vow to continue Lifton’s legacy of progressive advocacy.

The Democratic primary is in June.
