Ithaca Ballet presents ‘Winter Dance 2020 in the Hangar Theatre. Artistic Director Cindy Reid joins us by phone to talk about the great variety of dance represented in this ‘Leap into Winter’ on Leap Day, February 29, as well as the great variety of music. She also gives us a peek at the preparations for the next full-scale ballet, Adolphe Adam’s masterwork, ‘Giselle.’

ALBANY, NY (WSKG) - Governor Andrew Cuomo says the rate of the COVID-19 virus continues to be low in New York, with 11 deaths on June 30th, but he says he worries that compliance with safety rules is slipping. Because of that, the governor says he’s postponing permission to allow indoor dining in New York City.
ALBANY, NY (WSKG) - The state’s ongoing fiscal crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic has led to temporary funding reductions for some cities and postponed planned pay raises for state workers. It has also led to reductions to some smaller programs, including a key organization that helps New Yorkers with intellectual disabilities.
BUFFALO, NY (WBFO) - New York State's attorney general and lawyers in a class-action lawsuit say Harvey Weinstein and his former studio's board have reached a nearly $19 million settlement with dozens of sexual misconduct accusers. The agreement was announced late Tuesday by New York Attorney General Letitia James and Chicago attorney Elizabeth Fegan.
The Cayuga Chamber Orchestra is on enforced hiatus because of the pandemic, but they have given WSKG Classical permission to broadcast a concert of music by Joan Tower, George Enescu, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
