WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Supreme Court has temporarily barred New York from enforcing strict attendance limits on places of worship in areas designated coronavirus hot spots, in a decision released just before midnight on Wednesday. The decision marked a major shift for the court, in essence at least a partial reversal of previous rulings, as well as a clear indication of the court's dramatic move to the right with the addition of new Justice Amy Coney Barrett in place of the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
SYRACUSE, NY (WRVO) - Rep. Anthony Brindisi’s (D-Utica) campaign said Wednesday he has taken the lead over Republican challenger Claudia Tenney in the race for New York’s 22nd Congressional District. Brindisi trailed Tenney by more than 28,000 votes on election night, but did not concede, saying he was confident enough absentee ballots would swing his way to give him the win.
BINGHAMTON, NY (WSKG) — The race for New York’s 22nd Congressional District has drawn national attention as court determinations of roughly 2,000 ballots keep the race neck-and-neck. According to data from the Campaign Finance Institute, other than a race for New Mexico’s 2nd Congressional District, more independent money has been spent for Democrat Anthony Brindisi and Republican Claudia Tenney combined than for any House race in the nation.
ITHACA, NY (WSKG)ー The Tompkins County History Center is developing an exhibit to display a monument of the first white settlers in the area. The monument was removed from Dewitt Park in Ithaca last month.
SYRACUSE, NY (WRVO) - The day before Thanksgiving is typically the busiest travel day of the year. But it won’t look nearly as busy this year.
