Travelers from three more states will now be required to quarantine themselves for two weeks when they enter New York, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Tuesday, meaning that visitors from more than a third of the country will now be subject to the mandate.
SYRACUSE, NY (WRVO) - As the rate of COVID-19 continues to fall in much of upstate New York, new data suggests that people in central New York are on the move. Officials at the Syracuse Hancock International Airport say they have seen a significant increase in traffic lately.
ALBANY, NY (WSKG) - New York State Health Commissioner Dr. Howard Zucker issued a report Monday on the likely cause of deaths from COVID-19 in New York’s nursing homes that he said, shows the virus came in through infected staff, not through hospital readmissions. The study comes as Gov. Andrew Cuomo cancelled the State Fair and said he could not guarantee that schools will reopen in the fall.

BINGHAMTON, NY (WSKG) – Museums in the Southern Tier can now reopen, but the financial toll of the statewide shutdown has placed a strain on that effort. In March, the American Alliance of Museums estimated as many as 30 percent of institutions—mostly in small and rural communities—will fail in the COVID-19 financial crisis without “significant and immediate emergency financial assistance.”
The Roberson Museum and Science Center in Binghamton reopened on July 1, but much of its staff is still out on furlough.
