WSKG Public Media Names New President & CEO

WSKG is pleased to announce that its Board of Trustees has selected Mr. Greg Catlin as its next President and CEO. Mr. Catlin will join WSKG on December 5, 2016.  From a field of 58 applicants, Mr. Catlin was the unanimous choice of the Board.  Mr. Catlin will work with staff and the Board of Trustees in developing new programing and education projects, expanding the local news and its online presence, and in creating more visibility for the station. Mr. Catlin was formerly the general manager of WBNG-TV in Binghamton, New York where he spent nearly 34 years of his career.  While at WBNG, Mr. Catlin rose through the ranks from news reporter to news anchor, to news director, to vice president of news, and eventually to General Manager. "We are excited to find that the best candidate was also a local candidate" said Katherine A. Fitzgerald, Chair of the WSKG Search Committee.  "We believe that Mr. Catlin is the right person to lead our station in expansion of our local news coverage, to increase support for our local history productions, and to continue to move all our programing to the various digital platforms." Mr. Catlin is a native of Perry, New York and a graduate of the State University of New York at Geneseo.  He has spent his entire career in television, radio and digital broadcasting. He has extensive knowledge of all aspects of news, and station management as well as significant experience in business, industry and community relations. Mr. Catlin states that "WSKG is an incredible community asset.  This is a tremendous opportunity to help showcase and develop diverse local programming in the news, arts and culture, history, science and education fields.  I am thrilled to join the team at WSKG and help lead them into the future. We have set our sights on creating and delivering more content and services and charting new opportunities for TV, radio and the digital market in our 21 county coverage area." * * *
