Climate Conversationswill offer educators tools and resources to teach climate change concepts.PBS LearningMedia is hosting a 3-part virtual professional development series focused around climate change. This series of virtual PD will introduce educators to high-quality, media-based climate change educational materials and allow educators to engage in conversation with scientists, film producers, and other educators. One portion of the series will focus specifically on using the tools in PBS LearningMedia to build a lesson or unit using the materials introduced during the other two events.You must register for each part of the series separately.
OCTOBER 10, 7PM EASTERN
Using classroom resources from Frontline and NASA, PBS Digital Innovators will guide educators through the process of building a comprehensive unit using PBS LearningMedia. Our experienced educators will discuss how to bring age-appropriate climate science to any classroom, sharing tips and insights from their own classrooms.Attendees will learn how to use many of PBS LearningMedia’s tools including: Standards-Aligned Search, Lesson Builder, Quiz Maker, Storyboards, Quick Assign, and Class Rosters. Attendees will have the ability to share their own experiences, ask questions, and collaborate across grades and subject areas.This webinar will be led by two PBS Digital Innovators:

OCTOBER 24, 7PM EASTERN
Led by the producers of The Island President and An Inconvenient Sequel, this is a cross-curricular professional development opportunity to bring science and social studies educators together to address climate change in their schools. After viewing short clips from both films, educators and filmmakers will engage in a discussion about how communities across the globe are responding to rising sea levels and increasing natural disasters.Panelists:
