171 Cedar Arts Center presents MOSAIC: A Juried Exhibition of 19 Local Artists on view in the Houghton Gallery at 155 Cedar Street, November 8 – December 14, 2024.
The MOSAIC 2024 opening and exhibit will celebrate all that makes 171 Cedar Arts Center the region’s leading center for arts education. This exciting exhibition will feature up to 16 small works from each regional artist. This is a great opportunity to discover and acquire new art from some of your favorite artists. Museum is open Monday through Saturday. This exhibition tells the story of the Langdon mansion, the home of one of Elmira’s most prominent and historically significant families. It features numerous period images of the interior as well as furniture, decorative objects, and works of art original to the mansion. Many pieces on loan from the Center for Mark Twain Studies have not been seen by the public for nearly 85 years.
Come and learn about Newfield’s cemeteries at the Newfield Historical Society’s new exhibit: Every Stone Tells a Story! Visitors will learn interesting stories about people buried in Newfield, different kinds of gravestones, and what the different gravestone symbols mean. There is also a Haunted Hallway with bone chilling stories and a chance to share your spooky Newfield stories.

The Classes of 2029 and 2030 are sponsoring our 3rd annual vendor event to raise funds to visit Gettysburg and Washington, DC. This year we have 70 vendors, basket raffles from each vendor, pictures with the Grinch, face painting, a cookie walk, concession stand and so much fun!
