"Princess Ida, or Castle Adamant"
The Summer Savoyards will present Gilbert & Sullivan’s rarely performed comic operetta "Princess Ida, or Castle Adamant" on July 19 and 20 at 7:30 p.m. and July 21 at 3 p.m. at the Anderson Center for the Performing Arts at Binghamton University.
The operetta takes the “battle of the sexes” to near actual war when the princess, head of a woman’s university, is forced to uphold a pre-arranged marriage contract. Hijinks ensue when the man of the marriage, and his friends, take things into their own hands.
Tickets are $28 (65 and over/12 and under, $25; groups of 10 or more, $23).
