MOZART’S REQUIEM TO BE PERFORMED IN TULLY
On April 13, 2025 (Palm Sunday), a group of local singers and orchestral players will perform Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s timeless masterpiece, Requiem, at the Tully United Community Church at 3:00 pm. Admission will be free, but donations will be gratefully accepted.
Stephen B. Wilson, SUNY Cortland Professor of Music, Emeritus, will conduct an orchestra of twenty-three players, a forty-voice chorus, and a quartet of soloists.
These musicians will perform Robert D. Levin’s most recent completion of Mozart’s originally unfinished work, which he published in spring, 1993. The orchestra will consist of two clarinets, two bassoons, a trio of trombones (alto, tenor, and bass), timpani, organ, and strings (violins, violas, cellos, and bass).
Dr. Wilson will be leading the ensemble in this work for only the second time in his lengthy career as conductor. He first performed it in 1985, when he was a new member of the music department at SUNY Cortland.
The concert is presented and sponsored by the Tully United Community Church.
