Travel back in time with me!
Come see the Toy Store Diorama at George F Johnson Library! 1001 Park Street Endicott. Now Monday through Fridays through August 29th! (Monday through Thursday, 9 to 8 Friday, 9 to 5). Closed on weekends thru August.Created by artist Therese Bohn, this diorama portrays a memory of a local toy store from the artist’s childhood. The display took three months to research and build. It features intricate and well scaled miniature handmade recreations of popular games and toys from the 1960’s, with Barbie dolls as its characters.
Something for the whole family to enjoy and discover the wonderworld of toys from the 50s and 60s!
The display is featured in the Adult Reading Section of the library, right behind the old card catalogues. Be sure to leave a comment in Therese’s guest book as well!
Music in the Glen began the summer of 2020, when all other music events were cancelled because of covid. These concerts, in beautiful Glendale Park, permitted safe, isolated listening experiences, with easy parking, shaded listening under the trees, and pristine sound from the stage at shelter 1. To date, 120 concerts have been provided. Please tell your friends and colleagues. Concerts are free, with an option for voluntary donations to help pay the musicians. MITG has received a United Cultural Fund grant from Broome County Arts Council for it's community concerts. We now have corporate and business sponsors, as we continue to grow. MITG seeks out creative and original artists who may find it more challenging to perform at local venues that tend to seek out cover bands. You can visit the website, or scan the QR code in image file, to see the artists who will perform this season. This post lists Saturday afternoon shows. There are also weekly shows on Tuesday evenings starting at 6 pm.
The Southern Cayuga Community Chorus is a brand new chorus in Southern Cayuga County. This will be our inaugural concert, so if you like choral music, come join us for a short program of singing in a variety of styles.
