VESTAL, NY (WSKG) – Former Broome County District Attorney Steve Cornwell is suspending his campaign in New York’s 22nd Congressional District.

The Republican’s suspending his campaign the same day he announced he’s running for Broome County Family Court Judge.

It’s also the same day campaign finance numbers are due for the final quarter of 2019.

Others vying for the Republican nomination include former Congresswoman Claudia Tenney, former Broome County Legislator George Phillips and educator Franklin Sager. The seat is currently held by freshman Democrat Anthony Brindisi, who unseated Tenney in 2018.

NY-22 covers parts of central New York and the Southern Tier, including Cortland and Binghamton.
