BINGHAMTON, NY (WSKG) - The New York State Public High School Athletic Association plans to announce a decision later this month on whether high school spring sports championships will be played this year.
"The @NYSPHSAA Officers & Executive Director @RobertZayasNY will be asking each Section to gather input on the future of the spring championships," a tweet from NYSPHSAA read. "Membership feedback will be provided with a potential decision to be released on Monday, April 27th."
Winter sport championships were cancelled in March.
Governor Andrew Cuomo has ordered schools closed until at least May 15th due to concern over COVID-19.
