Dinosaurs and the Comparative Anatomy of Mass Extinctions

Mark your calendars for an exciting lecture at SUNY Cortland on March 24, 2016 at 7pm.


SUNY Cortland welcomes Dr. Paul E. Olsen, an international authority on dinosaurs, for an innovative talk on mass extinctions.Dr. Olsen’s lecture will focus on the patterns of extinction and survival of dinosaurs and other animals across the three largest biologic crises in the history of life (the end-Permian, end-Triassic, and end-Cretaceous mass extinction events). Dr. Olsen is the Storke Memorial Professor of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Columbia University and member National Academy of Sciences.When: March 24, 2016  at 7pm.Where: SUNY Cortland Campus Bowers Hall rm. 1129The lecture is free and open to the public.Sponsored by the SUNY Cortland Geology Department, the Geology Club and SUNY Cortland’s Campus Artist and Lecture Series.
