VESTAL, NY (WSKG) — The Pathfinder Village will expand its school after receiving two anonymous gifts totaling $2.2 million.
The Pathfinder Village is a residential community in Otsego County. It provides services for people with autism, down syndrome and other developmental disabilities. The village says the money will be used for various projects, including renovations of existing classrooms and the creation of a new integrated preschool.
The preschool will accommodate up to 24 students with varying abilities. Construction is expected to start in spring 2020 and be completed that fall.
The Pathfinder Village says students from the surrounding area also attend their school when districts are unable to meet the students’ needs.
