A Day in Cherry Valley
Cherry Valley Artworks revisits “A DAY IN CHERRY VALLEY” on MAY 5th
On Saturday, May 5th Cherry Valley Artworks recreates the very first event it ever sponsored:
A DAY IN CHERRY VALLEY.
Fourteen years ago, on that first “DAY IN CHERRY VALLEY”, Artworks distributed disposable cameras, but in the era of digital cameras and smartphones, the event is now going digital. Residents, neighbors, visitors and anyone who loves Cherry Valley are invited to photograph someplace, someone, or something they love in our charming, historical village and town. All photographs must be taken within the 24-hours of May 5th creating a visual portrait of a typical day, one 24-hour period in the life of the town.
Photos must be emailed to email@example.com by the end of the day on Sunday, May 6th. On Saturday, May 12th the finalists will be posted to Artworks Facebook page and winners will be announced at an Opening Reception at The Star Theater on May 19th. All entries will be on view at the opening and winner’s will be announced including a People’s Choice Award. Judges for the contest are professional photographer Andy Baugnet and Cherry Valley Town Historian Sue Miller. Also on view will be historic photos of Cherry Valley from the collection of the Cherry Valley Museum.
The reception on May 19th is free and open to the public. There will be Hors-d’oeuvres, live music, and a cash bar. Musicians are invited to bring their instruments for a community open mic session.
See Artworks Facebook page for a list of prizes. Please direct any questions to firstname.lastname@example.org
