Faculty Recital: Zachary Sweet, cello, Noemi Miloradovic, violin and Michael Salmirs, piano

April 19 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

The music on this recital features emotional chamber music from the former Soviet Union and Hungary. Kodaly’s Duo for Violin and Cello was written as WWI was looming which is reflected through the hectic melodic exchanges between the two instruments. Schnittke’s Sonata No. 1 for cello and piano follows the style of Shostakovich and is full of the erratic emotion of the cold war. The music on this program is balanced by other works including a duo by composer Dan Davis.
Tickets for the concert are $10, general admission; $7, for faculty, staff, alumni and seniors; and free for students and are available at the Anderson Center Box Office from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. weekdays, by calling 607-777-ARTS, online (anderson.binghamton.edu) or at the door. For more information, call 607-777-2592, visit the Music Department website (music.binghamton.edu) or become a fan on Facebook.
