Fiction writer Rahul Mehta reads at Alfred University

The Alfred Literary Festival continues with a fiction reading by Rahul Mehta at 5:30pm in Scholes Library on the Alfred University campus. A reception and book signing will follow the reading.

Rahul Mehta is the author two books: a short story collection, Quarantine (HarperPerennial, 2011), which won the Lambda Literary Award and the Asian American Literary Award for Fiction, and a novel, No Other World (Harper, 2017), set in rural Western New York State. His fiction and essays have appeared in the Kenyon Review, Epoch, The Sun, Noon, the New York Times Magazine, the International Herald Tribune, Marie Claire India, and on the Op-Ed page of the New York Times. Named to Out magazine’s “Out 100” list of inspiring LGBTQ individuals for 2011, Mehta is a former Alfred University faculty member and currently teaches creative writing at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia.
