Matthew Hall, keyboards. “William Byrd, Father of Music:” harpsichord and organ music from various periods in his life that trace his development as a composer and performer. In addition to works that seem to address his Catholic politics and faith, Hall performs selections that evince Byrd’s special genius, present even in his earliest works.
