No Promises Vocal Band Makes Cherry Valley Debut

CHERRY VALLEY, NY – Upstate New York receives a late July vocal jazz jolt as one of the Midwest’s premier a cappella groups makes its local debut with a duet of concerts.
Cherry Valley Artworks proudly presents No Promises Vocal Band, Thursday, July 26, 7:30pm at the historic Star Theater (44 Main Street, Cherry Valley, NY). No Promises pairs favorites of Motown, jazz and adult contemporary music with selections from their new record, All Wet, including classics by Stevie Wonder, Dan Fogelberg, Manhattan Transfer, Hall & Oates, Alicia Keys and Taylor Swift. Tickets are $10 and are available at the door.
The group has unique connections to the area. Guest Artist Schyler Vargas, a graduate opera candidate at the University of Cincinnati’s world-renowned College-Conservatory of Music, is spending his summer singing at nearby Glimmerglass Festival. Fellow baritone David Baum enjoyed a sparkling career on Broadway, where during productions of A CHORUS LINE and MARY POPPINS he met his wife, Aurora, NY native and fellow Broadway veteran, Leslie Goddard. The group will also be in Aurora performing at the Morgan Opera House on Saturday, July 28th.
A favorite of the Ohio music scene, No Promises has entertained at festivals, concert series, conventions and concert halls throughout the state. No Promises’ holiday tours annually draw thousands of music lovers annually to enjoy selections from its seasonal record, A No Promises Christmas. Its members have performed across North America with theatrical tours, graced the stages of Broadway, fronted major symphony orchestras, and backed the likes of Jim Messina, Rodney Crowell, Kenny Loggins and POCO. In their day-to-day lives, the men of No Promises are clinical psychologists, theatrical talent buyers, real estate developers and working musicians with a passion for fine a cappella singing.
No Promises brand new studio album ALL WET will be available for purchase at the concerts. The ten-track disc features pop music from the 60s to radio hits of today including the Jackson Five’s “I Want You Back”, The Four Seasons “Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You” and Blondie’s “Call Me”.
