Portraits of New York

September 14 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

$10

The Binghamton University Department of Music will present “Portraits of New York” at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 14 in Casadesus Recital Hall at Binghamton University. Performers include musician Laurence Elder on piano and vocals, and actors Adam Holley, Janna Holley, Joseph Kocak, René Neville, and Jeff Tagliaferro.

Portraits of New York uses jazz and contemporary music along with spoken word to present a concert devoted to the vivacity of New York City. Performance pieces celebrate New York City’s energy and verve and include various themes devoted to skyscrapers, subways, busking, Central Park, neighborhoods, the homeless, Ground Zero, MoMA’s sculpture garden, Washington Square dog park, and graffiti art, to name a few. A complimentary reception to meet the performing artists will be held in the Green Room immediately following the concert.
