Simeon Benjamin was born on Long Island in 1792. The son of a farmer, Benjamin opened his first business in 1812 and within a few years acquired a substantial amount of wealth. In 1835, Benjamin moved to Elmira, New York and began investing his fortune in the growing community. One of Benjamin’s most substantial investments was in Elmira College.

BINGHAMTON, NY (WSKG) - The City of Binghamton is changing the way restaurants and taverns can operate once they can reopen for limited dine-in service. Among the actions Mayor Rich David is pushing are social distancing guidelines for outdoor seating.

SYRACUSE, NY (WRVO) -Voters in New York have until Friday to register to vote in time for the state's June 23rd Primary. This year, voters will be able to either go to the polls, or vote by absentee ballot.
PA POST - The Pennsylvania Auditor General completes well over 3,000 audits of publicly funded agencies each year, reviewing the work of state agencies and prisons, down to school boards and volunteer firefighter relief associations. Primarily, the aim is to uncover waste, fraud, and abuse in the spending of taxpayer money, but the auditor general also has investigated issues like untested rape kits and the Wolf administration’s business waiver process during COVID-19.
