ROCHESTER, NY (WXXI) - New York state’s COVID-19 positivity rate has dropped below .30% for the first time since the start of the pandemic. That’s according to Governor Andrew Cuomo who released data on Sunday showing a statewide positivity rate of .29%.
That’s also a record low for 23 consecutive days.
The infection rate for the Finger Lakes region is .54%. That is the second highest rate in the state, behind the North Country, but the positivity rate for all regions of the state is well below 1%.
The percentage of all New Yorkers who have had at least one vaccine dose is 56.6%. The percentage who have had the completed series is 50.8%.
In the Finger Lakes region, the percentage of the population with at least one vaccine dose is 56.2%. The percentage with the completed series is 52%.
