Report: Concert Promoters Missed Payment Before Racetrack Pulled Out Of Woodstock 50

VESTAL, NY (WSKG) - Organizers for the Woodstock 50 music festival missed a payment to Watkins Glen International last month.  That's according to court documents cited by the Poughkeepsie Journal. This came just weeks before the racetrack pulled out of the event.

The information came out as part of a lawsuit between organizers and the festival's former financial backer, the Dentsu Aegis Network. The paper reports Watkins Glen International (WGI) sent a letter to Dentsu that the payment, due in mid-May, was late.

This week, WGI said it would not host Woodstock 50, though the racetrack wouldn't comment further.

WGI was supposed to host Woodstock 50 August 16-18. The lineup included Dead and Company, Imagine Dragons and Halsey.

Organizers have said they have a new financial backer and are working to secure a new venue.
