VESTAL, NY (WSKG) - Absentee votes are being counted in the race for the Republican nomination for Broome County District Attorney.
Last month's unofficial primary results had Paul Battisti leading Mike Korchak by 137 votes. 9,030 were cast. The winner takes on Democratic candidate Debra Gelson in the November general election.
The candidates aim to replace current District Attorney Steve Cornwell, who announced a congressional campaign last week. He's been in office since 2015.
