Part Of I-86 To Honor Deceased State Trooper

Trooper Clark Highway voicer web

VESTAL, NY (WSKG) - A portion of highway in Steuben County will be named in honor of State Trooper Nicholas Clark, who was shot and killed last year.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has signed a bill that designates twin spans in Bath on Interstate 86  as the "Trooper Nicholas F. Clark Memorial Bridge."

The spans stand in front of the New York State Police Barracks where the  trooper was stationed.

The 29-year-old was shot and killed last July while responding to reports of a suicidal man in the Town of Erwin in Steuben County. The shooter was later found dead in his home. Steven Kiley was K-12 principal in the Bradford Central School District.

Clark graduated the New York State Police Academy in 2015. Besides Bath, he served in Ithaca and Auburn.
