VESTAL, NY (WSKG) - The City of Hornell has received $10 million from New York State as part of the Downtown Revitalization Initiative.
Governor Andrew Cuomo announced the DRI in 2016 in efforts to invest in New York state communities.
"As we keep building strategies for a stronger future for the Southern Tier region," 58th District State Senator Tom O'Mara said in a statement.
"[T]his investment in Hornell will continue to help the city move forward, revitalize the downtown for businesses and residents alike, and encourage a transformation that will benefit the entire area," he added.
Other downtown revitalization funding winners over the last few years include Elmira, Penn Yan, Watkins Glen, Cortland, Owego and Oneonta.
