Reed Says He's Still Hasn't Seen A "Smoking Gun" With Impeachment

ITHACA, NY (WSKG) - The House of Representatives is expected to vote this morning on whether to continue investigations into presidential actions that might lead to impeachment.

That's not how Southern Tier Congressman Tom Reed sees it.

Reed is a long-standing backer of President Trump. The Congressman said no testimony so far is a '"smoking gun" that would justify an impeachment inquiry. He made the comments  on a conference call Wednesday to reporters.

"I do view this vote here coming up this week as an impeachment vote in regards to do you approve impeachment, do you disapprove of impeachment," the Republican said.

However, the vote in the House of Representatives on is not on impeachment.  House members will vote on whether impeachment investigations should continue.

Reed said he will vote against the investigations.
