Brindisi In Self-Quarantine After Fellow Congressmembers Test Positive For COVID-19

BINGHAMTON, NY (WSKG) — New York 22nd District Congressman Anthony Brindisi is under self-quarantine.

In a statement, Brindisi said he was in contact with Congressman Ben McAdams last week. McAdams and another congressperson have since tested positive for the coronavirus.

"As a member of Congress and a public servant, keeping our community safe is my top priority," Brindisi said. "Out of an abundance of caution and on the advice of the Attending Physician of the United States Congress, I will self-quarantine until Friday, March 27, 2020."

Although Brindisi is not showing any symptoms, he said he will work from home.

"I will be teleworking from my home and will remain in close contact with local, county, state, and federal officials as we coordinate a response to this growing pandemic."

Brindisi is holding a tele-town hall meeting tonight at 5:30PM.

Brindisi district includes Utica, Cortland, and Binghamton.
