ENDWELL, NY (WSKG) — Congress will soon pass the latest COVID-19 stimulus package, which is set to deliver billions in funding to various public entities across New York, but those final figures are still being calculated.
According to an analysis of the stimulus package by the New York Association of Counties (NYSAC), counties outside of New York City are supposed to receive a combined $2.2 billion. This is money solely dedicated to county governments based on their share of the population. Breakdowns for each county based on the NYSAC report are below.
On Tuesday, NYSAC Legislative Director Ryan Gregoire told Tompkins County legislators during a committee meeting that the exact figures for direct aid for municipalities had not totally been finalized by Washington yet as the House prepares to vote on the package.
"So just hang tight and keep that in the back of your mind," Gregoire said.
In addition to the funding for counties and municipalities, universities are also expecting to receive direct funds.
