New York Governor/Lieutenant Governor
Democrat Kathy Hochul has become the first woman elected New York governor. She defeats Republican Congressman Lee Zeldin. Hochul took over as governor in 2021 when former Governor Andrew Cuomo resigned. Zeldin was an ally of Donald Trump, who ran a campaign focused on rising violent crime.
U.S. Senator (New York)
At 9:00 p.m., the Associated Press projects Democrat Charles Schumer wins reelection to U.S. Senate over Republican Joe Pinion and Diane Sare on the LaRouche-party line.
Attorney General
New York Democratic Attorney General Letitia James wins reelection, defeating Republican Michael Henry.
Congress (19th Congressional District)
Republican Marc Molinaro is declaring victory in the 19th Congressional District race over Democrat Josh Riley. Molinaro leads by 6,000 votes with all districts reporting. Riley refused to concede the race Tuesday night.
Congress (23rd Congressional District)
At 10:48 p.m., the Associated Press projects Republican Nick Langworthy wins election to the U.S. House over Democrat Max Della Pia.
State Senate (52nd District)
Democrat Lea Webb declared victory over her opponent Republican Rich David in the race for New York’s 52nd State Senate District. Webb is ahead by 1,500 votes or less than two percentage points. David has not conceded.
Assembly (123rd District)
Democratic Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo wins reelection, defeating a challenge from Binghamton Republican City Councilwoman Sophia Resciniti.
City of Ithaca Mayor
Democrat Laura Lewis wins election for Ithaca mayor, defeating Progressive candidate Katie Sims and Republican Zach Winn. Lewis, who is Ithaca's acting mayor, will serve for one year, finishing former Ithaca Mayor Svante Myrick's term.
Broome County Sheriff
Republican Fred Akshar is elected to Broome County sheriff, defeating Democrat Kathleen Newcomb. Akshar got 73 percent of the vote Tuesday night.
U.S. Senator (Pennsylvania)
Democrat John Fetterman has won Pennsylvania’s pivotal race for U.S. Senate. The lieutenant governor overcame a stroke to defeat Republican Dr. Mehmet Oz and flip a Republican-held seat.
Pennsylvania Governor
Pennsylvania Democrat Josh Shapiro has won the race for governor, defeating Republican Doug Mastriano.
