According to NPR, sets up the process that could result in of articles of impeachment
Democrat Anthony Brindisi (NY-22) said he voted for the investigation because it needs to be fair and public. Fellow Democrat Antonio Delgado (NY-19) also voted in favor of the investigation continuing.
“I voted for this resolution because I am committed to transparency and accountability,” Delgado said in a statement to WSKG. “I believe this resolution will allow the American people to see the ongoing work within these committees, to follow the facts, and to protect our national security.”
Democrat Matt Cartwright (PA-8) also voted in favor of continuing the investigation as outlined in the resolution.
Republican Tom Reed (NY-23), a long-time supporter of President Trump, voted against the investigation.
“Obviously, I’m opposed to impeachment,” Reed told reporters on a conference call Wednesday, the day before the vote. “I’ve not seen that smoking evidence that would warrant an impeachable level offense.”
“So, I’m opposed to this vote,” Reed added.
Other area Republicans, John Katko (NY-24) and Fred Keller (PA-12) also voted against the investigation.
