NY-23 Candidates Debate Healthcare, Extremism, Role Of Government. Mitrano Gives Interview. Reed Does Not.

New York’s 23rd congressional district is represented by Tom Reed (R-Corning). In this year’s election his opponent is Tracy Mitrano (D), a cyber security specialist from Penn Yan.  Here, we share sections of one of the three debates between them, courtesy of WETM-TV.

We also share an interview with Tracy Mitrano.

Unfortunately, Reed did not agree to an interview. WSKG contacted him several times, beginning in June and through most of October.

New York’s 23rd congressional district has 11 counties and stretches across the Southern Tier from Lake Erie in the west along the Pennsylvania border to Tompkins County and north to Seneca County.

Reed is running for his fifth term in Congress. From 2010-2013 he represented the former 29th district, from 2013 he has represented the 23rd district.
