The work will stop Thursday at 6 A.M. and pick back up Monday, July 8th at 6 A.M.
The aim is to ease congestion as the number of people traveling increases. Governor Andrew Cuomo said a record number of people are expected to hit the road for the holiday.
Some work may continue behind permanent concrete barriers or for emergency repairs.
