SD-52 primary election: Danks Burke wants to bring community advocacy to Albany

Leslie Danks Burke is running as one of two Democrats seeking the party’s nomination in the newly drawn 52nd state Senate District. The district encompasses Tompkins, Cortland and the western portion of Broome County including the City of Binghamton. Her primary opponent is Lea Webb.

The winner of the primary will face Republican former Binghamton Mayor Rich David in the general election.

Both candidates discussed their candidacy and some policy views with WSKG ahead of the Aug. 23 primary election.
