BUFFALO, NY (WBFO) – New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli is reporting strong growth in local state sales tax collections through the first half of the year.
Calculations show a 6 percent increase across the state through June, which is equivalent to a $500 million increase over the same period last year. DiNapoli notes that this is the highest half-year increase since 2010, and it is the fourth consecutive period of strong sales tax collections.
