Kelles is in a seven-way Democratic race in New York’s 125th District. The winner will replace Lifton, who’s retiring at the end of the year.

The district covers all of Tompkins and parts of Cortland counties.

Kelles said her campaign priorities align with those of the Working Families Party. Both support universal healthcare, affordable housing and childcare for all New Yorkers.

She is currently a member of the Tompkins County Legislature.
