Dorothy Cassaro of Cranford, New Jersey is seen at home on Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2020. Cassaro’s mother, Annette Kociolek, 93, was a resident at St. Joseph’s Senior Home in Woodbridge when she was diagnosed with COVID-19 in March. The state made the decision to move her along with the other residents to a different facility 30 miles away to CareOne at Hanover in Whippany. Within five days of the move, Cassaro’s mother passed away. Cassaro says she wants acknowledgement that the move was a bad decision. “I think she would’ve survived at St. Joe’s,” she said.
