Percussion Ensemble Concert

The Percussion Ensemble, directed by Joel Smales, will perform exciting percussion music for the full ensemble and small groups featuring traditional, non-traditional, marimba and ragtime music at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 27 in the Anderson Center Chamber Hall at Binghamton University. A concert of traditional African music will be performed by a full ensemble of drummers and dancers, directed by James Burns and Elikem Nyamuame. African dance-drumming typically juxtaposes several art forms together including storytelling, pantomime, oral history and community wisdom at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 7 in Watters Theater at Binghamton University.

PINOCCHIO is an operatic version of the children’s literary classic Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi, adapted by American opera and concert singer John Davies. This version of Pinocchio uses scenes from operas by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Gaetano Donizetti, Jacques Offenbach, and Giovanni Battista Pergolesi.
