VESTAL, NY (WSKG) - Retiring Assemblywoman Barbara Lifton endorsed her long-time counsel and former staffer Jordan Lesser to replace her in New York's 125th district. The district includes Tompkins County and part of Cortland County.
Lifton called the Ithaca native the most qualified candidate.
“He’s very knowledgeable, and cares about the whole range of issues that are important to this district,” she said. “Jordan understands the tremendous challenges we face and will be able to put his extensive experience in Albany to work immediately.”
Lifton, a Democrat, has served in the New York legislature since 2002.
Lesser faces six other candidates in the race. The primary is set for June 23rd.
