A local coalition is working to salvage materials from some of the older houses being torn down in Ithaca.

The public transit agency for Tompkins County, known as TCAT, wants to electrify its entire fleet of buses by 2035. There is funding from the federal infrastructure bill that will help the agency reach that goal.

The Ithaca Common Council voted late Wednesday night to move forward with the city’s plan to electrify thousands of buildings in an effort to decarbonize by the end of the decade.

“You can recycle your Christmas tree in January and then pick it back up as compost in April."

“I look forward to this becoming an actual discussion, where our questions are answered, where we have actual talks about how we can imagine public safety because this ain’t it.”

“If you happened on that monument in public, you may only look at the names that are on the plaque."

I’ll really be interested to see if the 2020 election leads to new legislation in New York state and all across the country that makes voting easier and safer for all Americans even after hopefully the COVID-19 pandemic has come to an end.
