Hospicare & Palliative Care Services serves residents of Tompkins and Cortland counties.
Our palliative care program provides specialized medical care that focuses on relieving symptoms and stress at any stage of a serious illness. The goal of palliative care is to improve quality of life for both the patient and the family. Palliative care is provided by a specially-trained team of doctors, nurses, and other specialists who work together with a patient’s other doctors to provide an extra layer of support.
Our hospice team makes people comfortable in the last six months of their lives by honoring the patient’s wishes and by providing far more than medical care. We take into consideration patients’ medical, emotional and spiritual needs so they can more fully enjoy time with loved ones. We provide these services in homes, in acute and chronic care facilities, and at our six-bed residence. Following a patient’s death, we also support the family with 13 months of bereavement services.
Finally, as a part of our commitment to the community, we provide bereavement support services to anyone in our service area who is grieving the death of a loved one, whether or not they died on hospice.Special Offers during Social Isolation:
