VESTAL, NY (WSKG) – Each and every one of the 1200 choral selections in our music library is now available online. WSKG Classical has spawned “Choral A2Z from WSKG.” Choral music, which includes performances by individual operatic singers, duets and choirs, is available on your ALEXA device, NPR One and the WSKG APP.
For years, Compton said, a small and passionate group of listeners have lobbied WSKG for more choral music. Now, they have access to every piece that we can access, he said.
On Alexa, he says these are unique services. On demand, with no commercials nor subscription fees, listeners can request music perform by choral groups or music composed by Beethoven. Such a service could attract classical music fans from around the USA, said Compton.
Plans are underway to expand the service to include streams featuring Mozart, Bach and composers from the Americas. Plus, he says, the holiday classics stream will return next November.
