Voters stand in line outside the Corning-Painted Post high school polling site to cast their ballots for the school budget and board elections on May 20.

Revised school budgets passed for three districts in Steuben and Chemung counties on Tuesday.

For the second time in a month, the Corning-Painted Post area school district (C-PP), Prattsburgh central school district (PCSD) and Horseheads central school district (HCSD) asked voters to decide on their 2025-26 budgets.

After voters rejected their initial school budgets in May, all three districts lowered their proposed spending plans and tax levies.

Each school district required a simple majority to pass their revised budgets.

The C-PP budget of $144 million with a 3 percent tax levy, which was below the state tax cap, passed with 58 percent of the vote. The $12.1 million PCSD budget passed with 66 percent of the vote. The HCSD budget of $105 million with a 4.5 percent tax levy passed with 66 percent of the vote.

The Corning area school district was the only district with an additional ballot measure. After voters rejected the Southeast Steuben County Library’s initial budget, the library board proposed a decrease in its tax levy. The library’s $1.5 million budget passed with 59 percent of the vote.
